I live in Australia, I need to be an actor, no other job feels right and yet being in Australia means there are little to no acting opportunities. If there are any experienced actors in this sub Reddit or Australian actors that can tell me how the hell I find casting calls, etc. Please help me. Thank you

Hi guys! I have been wanting to do Talent Link for a while now as I’ve heard pretty good things for it, I mainly was hoping to get a manager from it so here’s where my question comes in: I’m a southeast actor because it’s the area I was born and raised and it’s where I’ve gotten all my bookings, but the talent link for…

Now I am not a voice actor myself. As much as I'd love to and as much as I think I'd be alright at it. It's a decently expensive hobby and I'm still in education (unemployed) but one thing that made me curious was a specific aspect. To my knowledge you kind of get two kinds of successful VAs, ones that have a very appe…

I'm looking for some compassionate yet honest advice on a life dilemma I'm facing at the moment. I got a place on an MA acting course at a top drama school. We started three weeks ago but I'm really struggling with whether the course is right for me. A little about my background: I don't have any formal actor training…

Hi there, my name's Cameron. In December of this year I'm releasing a visual novel game I've been working on all year, and throughout November I'll be looking to have some voice recordings done. Since Scottish accents are hard enough to find, I'm not too picky about experience or microphone quality. I also need some En…

I've been working as a videographer/video editor for over 10 years and I genuinely love what I do. But with the rise of AI, it feels like my industry is losing value and finding good opp…

Hey everyone LA based actor here. Is it worth leaving Los Angeles to move to another market to find work? The only reason I’m in LA is to act but I’m finding the city to be very low vibration as a whole to the point where I would move if other areas are getting work. We keep hearing this myth that’s been going on for t…

I’m currently working on a monologue I have to do for my drama class. My monologue is Tuan’s part from Skin & Liars by Dennis Foon, a play about teenagers facing discrimination in 1988 Vancouver. It’s supposed to be a monologue that we choose so we can put it in our actor’s toolkit for theatre auditions. It’s a great m…

I feel like we need to have an honest conversation about how independent productions treat actors, because some of this stuff is genuinely ridiculous. **I believe actors should be paid for their work.** I don’t care if it’s an independent film, a short film, or a smaller production. Actors are putting their time, talen…

Hello all! I am a 24M actor and I recently got braces and got small diamond studs in my ears. My agents are aware of these look changes and I’m currently waiting to see my photographer for new headshots in the fall. My issue is, I can’t remove the piercings when I do the headshots. I know it’s wise to take some with an…

I wish for us new crop of up and coming actors could commit to one thing. (apart from memorizing lines, showing up on time, and respecting our fellow actors) If we are eating in a scene... eat the food. Let's not push the food around our plates... let's EAT! Let's not continue this fad of bad eating acting. If the dire…
