So as actors, what attracts you to do student films with a little less than one week preparation (it's a three page script). I got a fake email after making an ill-advised joke (understandable). You think I could use backstage for my actors? I don't think trying the university actors would work because I already tried…

I auditioned for a feature film on October 6 and haven't heard anything back from my agent about a callback or any updates. The film is scheduled to shoot sometime between November and December, with the first shooting date listed as November 2. I'm wondering if I should still expect a potential callback at this point…

I only started background acting in february of this year. I got lucky and have received 4 vouchers during this time. This activated my ok30 during which I worked 8 sag jobs. I have talked to so many people and I am really conflicted about joining. The money I earned from the ok30 period would cover the initiation fees…

I'm a new-ish theatre actor, so far I've only been in a handful of plays and a short film. The most recent play I'm in is different from all my previous experiences cus it is a 8-minute short play. The biggest challenge I have right now is switching from happy to sad in a relatively short time frame. My co-star describ…

about 15 years ago, my parents started me as a child actor. usually I was just an extra, I only had one spoken line from years 6-12. when I was 13 I had a very small part in a tv show episode . my character didn’t have a name but I had 3 lines. obviously I was missing a lot of school for this, because I was set on bein…

I’m getting back into acting more seriously and would love some advice from people who have been in a similar position! I have a degree in theatre and some acting experience, but I stepped away from pursuing it seriously for a while to focus on getting financially stable. Not a voice actor, but hoping this community might know resources. I am a small adult - about the size of an average 12 year old. I have a fairly high pitched voice, not super quiet, but possibly combined with being child-size (and a woman), I am often not heard in groups/ noisy environments and can't really speak loud…

I'm not an actor but consider myself an actor's director. I've helped prep actors for auditions, self tapes and roles. Self-tapes are now the primary gateway to booking work but you do not need an expensive home studio to deliver a competitive audition. Your smartphone’s rear camera at 1080p, shot in landscape and mounted on a 15–25 tripod (or a stack of books at eye level) is all the camera you need. Stand facing a large window for so…
