Hi all, I'm relatively new to the whole 'acting' world and have recently been shopping around for a class or two to try out. I've signed up for so many free acting webinars that seem to just beat around the bush and by the end of it, all they really wanted to do was sell you their program which will cost you your first…

Hi there. I'm a fledgling actor getting my start with community theater. I came across an audition for a play at a local company that I'm interested in. The role that best fits my age/gender is a teenage girl who has mild dyslexia and is a sexual assault survivor. I myself do not have dyslexia and have not experienced…

I am not a voice actor, I just like to audibly give voices to characters in Visual Novels whenever I play them. And recently, for the past month I have been playing a VN called Katawa Shoujo, where most of the characters are girls whom I assume to have high pitched voice. And so as an 18M, I tried to imitate the voice…

How casting actually works generally. This is from a very reputable person who worked for a top cd, huge offices (oscar award-winning films, Emmy-winning shows) The talent pool from which these CDs pull is a million times smaller than you think. Large roles (leads) are arranged in studio packaging. If those on the stud…

20 year old star of the Fabelmans and potential Oscar nominee, but I can’t help but notice his dad is a successful working actor in Vancouver. They both have the same agent, so I’m willing to bet some money all he had to do to get signed was have his dad call them up. Then, said agent gets him the audition for The Fabe…

This is kind of embarrassing to admit but I tend to gather a lot of saliva in my mouth if I talk for long periods of time. This is even more evident since I tend to articulate my words more than " the typical screen actress". Usually when acting this isn't a problem but recently I've started auditioning for a Shakespea…

I recently came across the term "crossboarding" in filming TV shows which is where they film scenes in the same location across multiple episodes (correct me if I'm wrong). I've heard this is becoming quite a popular way of filming. Has anyone here ever worked on a TV show that filmed this way? Is it effective? How man…
